Children and Youth at St. John's
Children of all ages are welcome at St. John’s!
The children of the parish hold a special place in the life of the congregation. In the spring of 2004, the parish made a commitment to our present and future youth by purchasing and renovating a residence adjacent to the parish property for Christian Formation (Sunday school) and youth activities.
Dietrich Room
As part of the renovation of the existing Youth Building a generous gift from the Dietrich family made possible the construction of a large activities room in memory of Warren and Sue Dietrich.
Nursery
Professional child care beginning at 9:00 a.m. is available in the nursery for infants and toddlers during Sunday school and church.
The Nursery is located in the wing near the office area, between the Church and the Parish Hall. Children may be brought to the church to join the main service following the sermon in time for Holy Communion, if you desire. An usher or any parishioner would be happy to assist you.
Christian Formation Programs (Sunday school)
Classes for young people in Pre-Kindergarten through High School begin at 9:00 a.m. every Sunday, September through May, with special activities during the summer. Our curriculum is based on the Sunday readings and the church calendar (year) as well as discussions and learning experiences to guide children in their spiritual development.
The High School class continues the study of the promises made at Baptism and Confirmation with a detailed study of the Book of Common Prayer.
Youth Group (EYC)
Students in Junior High and High School meet in the Youth Building for fun activities, Bible study, and to plan service projects and other activities.
