Dear Friends, Thank you for another wonderful year. I was just 8 years ago, September 2002, that I became your rector and I hope your friend. As I have said many times before, but want to keep telling you, this has been the best eight years of my ministry. You are wonderful parish and are very supportive of me and the ministry of St. John’s. I keep telling everyone that will listen that St. John’s is a great place to be. That’s because you are such a wonderful, loving Christian community. I will leave on vacation after Church on Sunday, August 1 and return to Minden on August 31. I hope to have a peaceful and restful time, but I will miss you while I am away. A favorite of ours, Fr. Kenneth Paul, the retired rector of Holy Cross Episcopal Church in Shreveport will be here to preach and celebrate Eucharist every Sunday that I am away. I know that you will receive him in typical St. John’s style. My travels this year will take me to Panama City Beach for nine days and then to New Hampshire for two weeks. If you have any pastoral needs, contact Conrad and he can make arrangements for a priest to minister to you. Be good while I am away and keep on coming to Church. Fr. Wayne +
